Dear Beloved Sisters in the CHRIST....As a GOD's Child it is you to be too watchful in your dressing and the way you behave.... Modesty in the way we dress is not just for church; but in all times. Modesty in dress is to examine the attitudes and intents of the heart. Those whose hearts are inclined toward God will make every effort to dress modestly, decently, and appropriately. If a woman dresses in a way that will unduly draw attention to her body, she is a poor witness of the One who bought her soul by dying for her on the cross.
What is the biblical meaning of modesty? It is the attitudes of the heart. If a woman’s heart is inclined toward godliness, she will wear clothing that is neither provocative nor revealing in public, clothing that does not reflect negatively upon her personal testimony as a child of God.
She knows these types of clothes are designed to draw attention to her body and cause men to lust, but she is wise enough to know that type of attention only cheapens her. The idea of causing men to sin against God because of her dress is abhorrent to her because she seeks to love and honor God and wants others to do the same
Body is Temple of GOD:
"She is forgetting that her body has been redeemed by Christ and is now the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19 and 20)"
Look at yourself in a full mirror – front, back and sideways! And ask yourself…
- Will what I am wearing bring God glory??
- Is it appropriate and respectful?
- Is it too short and Is it too tight??
- Is it too sheer? or Is the neckline too low?
- Is what I am wearing stating that I am dressed to be pure and holy or chased (by men)?
- Will it encourage a man to lust after me, thus causing him to stumble and sin?
Here are some scriptures which states How a Godly woman should be:
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (1 peter 3:3 and 4) .
"likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.(1 Timothy 2: 9 and 10)
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”.(Colossians 3:12)
Beauty does not mean about your cosmetics, dressing, body shapes…
It’s all about the Qualities You possess…As a GODLY women you should have wisdom, Discernment, care, loyalty and courage…You should be a Powerful prayer Warrior…True believer of GOD…
Anyone See you they should see the Love of GOD within you....The Christ should Reveal in you....Many people thinks differently saying that, GOD looks our inner heart and not our Dressing Outer appearance....I would like to Share...Really it burdens me...Seeing Girls wearing over fit dresses....I request you to Live For Christ.... Many say wearing this kind of dresses bring respect on me... Hahahahaha...May be...It is their thinking…But really to say the dress you wore won’t bring u Respect...As a GODLY Child of GOD... Be humble, be polite... Wear decent wear which does not distract others.....it is not only your life... The way you are resembles your life with GOD... It should be a witness to others..... Don’t Depart the Commandments of GOD...
